Hi guys! Welcome to my blog! Hope you all are doing great! In this post I am gonna show you how to make cute and beautiful paper lanterns for Diwali. This is a very simple and easy project and you can make these in different colors and decorate your home this Diwali.

Material required

 

• A4 color papers ( 10 sheets )
• A4 white paper ( 1 sheet )
• Ruler
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Compass
• Glue stick
• Stapler ( optional )

Step 1

Draw a circle of 2.5 inches on a white sheet of paper with the help of a compass.

Step 2

Place the compass needle with the same measurement ( 2.5 inches ) on the circumference of the circle anywhere and make two marks as shown.

Step 3

Measure the distance between two marks you just made, place the compass in anyone mark or point and mark on the circle.

Step 4

Join all these three points. You are ready with your triangle. Cut the triangle out.

Step 5

Now draw 2.5 inches circles on 10 papers. On each paper you can only draw 2 circles. You have to draw total of 20 circles. Cut the circles out.

Step 6

Place the triangle on each circle and fold them as shown.

Step 7

Join five pieces together as shown, it will form cap type shape and similarly make two more caps. Let’s name these 3 caps A, B, C.

Step 8

Now you have to join these pieces ( A,B,C ) together. Take A and apply glue on one triangle as shown and stick B’s triangle on it. Now you have joined A and B together.

Stick C piece to A and B as shown below:

Step 9

Flip the ball upside down. Stick three pieces in the area marked as 1, 2, 3 in the following image:

After sticking three pieces you will be left with the spacing as shown below:

Stick one piece in the spacing.

Step 10

Again flip the ball upside down.

Step 11

Now you are left with one triangle that you can either stick or staple it after placing led light inside the lantern. If you will glue it then you will have to tear the ball to take out the led light but if the piece is stapled you can still open the pins, remove the piece take your led light out without damaging your whole lantern.
